CCMTS Book Review Service
Authors/Publishers
The CCMTS provides a Book Review Service for authors and publishers who wish to have their textbooks for the massage therapy profession reviewed. The CCMTS Education Committee will only accept those textbooks that are relevant for entry to practice education in Canada.
Through its Education Committee the CCMTS Book Review Service will assemble a team of experienced educators who have content expertise and who have knowledge of established competency requirements for entry to practice in regulated provinces in Canada. Historically, Canadian educators have been significant contributors in the development and advancement of massage therapy through the expansion of curriculum to its present state.
CCMTS Book Assessment Criteria
The following is a list of the objective criteria the CCMTS will use in the review process.
Subject Expertise
Competency in the Delivery of Subject Knowledge
Support Resources
Cost-Effectiveness
Once reviewed, books considered as having satisfactorily met the criteria established by the CCMTS Education Committee will be considered for recommendation to its member schools, Canadian provincial regulating bodies, professional associations and practitioners and may be invited to be added to the CCMTS Recommended Textbooks List which is maintained on the CCMTS website and updated quarterly.
A written review will be provided to the author/publisher.
A written request for the return of books submitted by the author/publisher for review is required in order for the CCMTS to return the submitted copies of the book.
